A personalized approach to chiropractic care

Care designed around your body — every visit

No two bodies move the same way. Each visit is tailored to your mobility, comfort level, stress patterns, and goals. Depending on your needs, care may include any combination of the techniques listed here — selected specifically for how your body is presenting that day.

Our focus is helping your body move more comfortably and efficiently — while supporting long-term function and resilience, not just short-term relief.

Hypermobility-informed chiropractic · Bend, OR

Are you double jointed, or have loose, unstable joints?

If your joints move too much — and you deal with chronic tension, frequent sprains, or recurring pain without a clear cause — you may be hypermobile. We provide chiropractic care specifically adapted for how your body works.

Being double jointed or "really flexible" — with pain or instability others don't understand search term
Loose joints, unstable joints, or joints that move too much search term
Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) or Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS)
Chronic muscle tension despite stretching search term
Recurring pain without clear injury — pain that doesn't show on imaging search term
Sensory sensitivity, chronic fatigue, and nervous system dysregulation

No diagnosis required. Many patients arrive knowing only that something feels "off." We meet you exactly where you are — no referral or prior chiropractic experience needed.

Sound familiar?

Chronic muscle tension despite stretching
Your muscles are working overtime to stabilize joints that can't hold themselves — not a stretching problem. More stretching makes it worse, not better.
Frequent sprains & tweaks
Spraining from ordinary movements, or injuries that shouldn't happen from what you were doing. Your joints give way without warning.
Recurring pain without clear injury
Pain that comes back with no obvious cause — joints that click, ache, or shift at rest — and doesn't show up on scans or imaging.
Fatigue from ordinary activity
Exhausted after tasks that look easy from the outside. Your body is working far harder than it appears to keep itself together.
Postural strain & headaches
Difficulty holding posture for long periods, headaches that worsen with sitting or standing, and a body that never quite feels stable or at ease.

“The power that made the body, heals the body.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - CHIROPRACTER BEND, OR

Your questions about chiropractic care in Bend

Is Chiropractic Safe for Hypermobile Individuals?

Yes — when the approach is adapted specifically for hypermobility. At Vitality Chiropractic, we do not use high-velocity, high-force manipulation on hypermobile joints. Instead, care is built around gentle, low-force techniques selected based on your joint mobility, nervous system sensitivity, and comfort level.

We use gentle, specific adjustments to address the areas that are fixated and avoid those joints that are already mobile. For our hypermobilt patients, out care focuses on supporting stability, improving nervous system regulation, and releasing the chronic muscle tension that builds up when your body works overtime to compensate for lax connective tissue.

We frequently work with patients who identify with generalized joint hypermobility, Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD), Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), and related conditions. No prior diagnosis is required to be seen.

Do I need a diagnosis, a referral, or prior chiropractic experience to book?

No to all three. Many patients arrive at Vitality Chiropractic without a formal diagnosis — knowing only that something in their body feels off, or that typical treatments haven't helped. You do not need a referral from a doctor, a confirmed diagnosis, or any previous experience with chiropractic care.

Your initial visit includes a comprehensive health history, a posture and movement assessment, and a full consultation. From there, if chiropractic care is appropriate, we'll build a plan together. If it isn't the right fit, we'll be honest about that too.

Do You Take Insurance?

Care at Vitality Chiropractic is gentle, specific, and adapted to how your body presents that day. Depending on your needs, techniques may include:

Diversified adjustments— precise, controlled spinal corrections

Instrument-assisted adjustments— low-force tool-based technique (similar to Activator) for sensitive or hypermobile patients

Drop-table technique — a gentle segmental approach that uses a table with cushioned drop pieces

Craniosacral-informed care— very light-touch work supporting nervous system regulation

Soft tissue and postural work — addressing the muscle tension patterns that build around unstable joints

Movement and home care recommendations — personalized guidance for between visits

Vitality Chiropractic is a cash-based practice and does not bill insurance directly. This is an intentional choice: it allows for longer, more personalized appointments without the constraints that insurance reimbursement models impose on care.

If you have a PPO plan, you may be eligible for out-of-network reimbursement. Upon request, we can provide a superbill — an itemized receipt with diagnosis and procedure codes — that you can submit to your insurance company directly for possible reimbursement.

What Techniques Do You Use?

How long are visits, and how often will I need to come in?

New patient visits are typically 45–60 minutes. This longer format allows time for a real conversation about your history, symptoms, goals, and concerns — not a rushed intake.

Follow-up visits are shorter and focused, typically 10–15 minutes. Frequency depends on your goals, how your body is responding, and what's practical for your life. We don't use a one-size-fits-all visit schedule.

For hypermobile patients especially, less can be more — shorter, more intentional sessions often produce better results than frequent, high-intensity care.

These terms overlap, but they describe different things—and you don’t need to have it all figured out before seeking care.

  • Generalized joint hypermobility (GJH) — when multiple joints move beyond the typical range, sometimes without causing symptoms

  • Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) — symptomatic hypermobility (such as pain, instability, or fatigue) that does not meet criteria for hEDS

  • Hypermobile EDS (hEDS) — the most common type of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a hereditary connective tissue disorder with specific diagnostic criteria

When tailoring care, what matters most is how your body moves, responds, and what symptoms you’re experiencing — not which label you carry. We assess your mobility, nervous system sensitivity, and symptom patterns, then build care around that, regardless of diagnosis.

Many patients who describe themselves as "double jointed," having "loose joints," or experiencing "joints that move too much" may relate to one of these hypermobility presentations without ever having been formally evaluated.

Whats the difference between hypermobility, HSD, and hEDS–and does it matter for my care?

Is Vitality Chiropractic a good fit for neurodivergent or sensory-sensitive patients?

Yes. We see a significant number of patients who identify as neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or chronically overstimulated — and our environment and approach are intentionally designed to support that.

Specifically, this looks like:

  • A quiet, calm clinical environment — not a busy, loud multi-table office

  • Predictable visit structure — you know what to expect at each appointment

  • Communication that adapts to your preferences — you're never rushed or talked over

  • Gentler technique options for those who experience sensory overwhelm from touch or sound

  • No pressure to proceed with anything you're not comfortable with

If you've avoided chiropractic care because previous experiences felt overwhelming, we'd encourage you to reach out before booking so we can talk through what to expect.
